During its twenty-eighth session in May 2002, the Committee also held a day of general discussion on article 3 of the Covenant on the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the Covenant, with a view to elaborating a general comment during 2003.
9- وأقامت اللجنة أيضاً، خلال دورتها الثامنة والعشرين المعقودة في أيار/مايو 2002، يوم مناقشة عامة بشأن المادة 3 من العهد المتعلقة بمساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في العهد، بهدف وضع تعليق عام خلال عام 2003.

13. Article 3 of the Covenant prescribes that States parties undertake to " ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights " .
13- تنص المادة 3 من العهد على أن تتعهد الدول الأطراف " بضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية " .

Articles 2 and 3 of the Covenant prohibit discrimination based on sex and guarantee " the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the present Covenant " .
وتحظر المادتان 2 و3 من العهد التمييز على أساس نوع الجنس وتضمنان " مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد " .

The Committee refers the State party in this regard to its general comment No. 16 on the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights (art. 3).

Moreover, some forms of discrimination are covered elsewhere in the Covenant itself, for instance in article 3, pursuant to which States " undertake to ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the present Covenant " .

In order to secure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the Covenant, signed by the Yemeni Government, and in recognition of the need to provide the legal guarantees required for men and women to have the same legal rights as those set forth in the Covenant, Yemen took steps to ensure that the Yemeni Constitution and other laws in force recognize those rights.
35- لضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد الموقَّع عليه من قِبَل حكومة بلدنا، وإدراكاً من اليمن لضرورة تأمين وتوفير الضمانات القانونية الكفيلة بامتلاك الرجل والمرأة لنفس الحقوق القانونية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد، جاء الدستور اليمني والقوانين النافذة الأخرى لتأكيد الحصول على هذه الحقوق.

14. In 2005, the Special Rapporteur made contributions to the CESCR's drafting of general comment No. 16 on " The equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights " (article 3 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights) (E/C.12/2005/4).
14- وفي عام 2005، أسهم المقرر الخاص في صياغة التعليق العام رقم 16 الصادر عن اللجنة المعنية بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية بشأن " ضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية " (المادة 3 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية) (E/C.12/2005/4).

At its thirtieth session on 6 May 2003, the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights held discussions on a draft general comment on article 3 of the Covenant (the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights), as follow-up to the day of general discussion at its twenty-eighth session in May 2002.
4- وأجرت لجنة الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية، في دورتها المعقودة بتاريخ 6 أيار/مايو 2003، مناقشات تناولت مشروع التعليق العام على المادة 3 من العهد (مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية)، كمتابعة ليوم المناقشة العامة الذي نظمته خلال دورتها الثامنة والعشرين في أيار/مايو 2002.

At its thirty-second session, from 26 April to 14 May 2004, CESCR continued its consideration of a draft general comment on article 3 of the Covenant (the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights), and started examining a draft general comment on article 6 (the right to work).
4- وواصلت لجنة الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية، في دورتها الثانية والثلاثين المعقودة في الفترة من 26 نيسان/أبريل إلى 14 أيار/مايو 2004، نظرها في مشروع التعليق العام على المادة 3 من العهد (ضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية)، وشرعت في النظر في مشروع التعليق العام على المادة 6 (الحق في العمل).
