22. The Conference assigned to the Committee of the Whole the consideration of the draft Convention on the Establishment of an International Criminal Court adopted by the Preparatory Committee.

These proposals are submitted in accordance with the mandate of the group as stipulated in decision PC.2/3 adopted by the Preparatory Committee on 1 June 2001 at its second session.

The Rome Statute, as well as the draft elements of crimes adopted by the Preparatory Committee on 30 June 2000, confirmed the validity and relevance of the Geneva Conventions and their additional Protocols and the determination of the international community to put an end to impunity for the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

1. This oral statement is made in accordance with rule 28 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council which were adopted by the Preparatory Committee of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

1. In accordance with decision 7 adopted by the Preparatory Committee at its organizational session held in May 1998, the Committee decided that its work should be open to the participation of non-governmental organizations which were accredited in accordance with Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31 and decisions 1996/208 and 1996/315.

In accordance with decision PC.1/2 adopted by the Preparatory Committee for the Durban Review Conference at its preparatory meeting in August 2007, and endorsed by the General Assembly in resolution 62/143, the following procedure was approved for the accreditation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to participate in the sessions of the Preparatory Committee.
1- وفقاً للمقرر ل ت-1/2 الذي اعتمدته اللجنة التحضيرية لمؤتمر ديربان الاستعراضي في اجتماعها التحضيري في آب/أغسطس 2007، والذي أقرته الجمعية العامة في قرارها 62/143، وُوفِق على الإجراء التالي القاضي باعتماد المنظمات غير الحكومية للمشاركة في دورات اللجنة التحضيرية.

Takes note of the report of the Commission on Human Rights acting as the preparatory committee for the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance on its first session, held from 1 to 5 May 2000, and welcomes the slogan for the World Conference adopted by the Preparatory Committee, namely, `United to combat racism: equality, justice, dignity';

1. The present report has been prepared pursuant to paragraph 15 of the annex to decision 1 adopted by the Preparatory Committee at its first session (17-29 May and 15 July 1999).1 In that decision, it requested the Secretary-General to report on suggested means to promote social integration in the context of post-conflict situations. II. Summary

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, acting in her capacity as Secretary-General of the World Conference, has the honour to transmit to the intersessional openended working group the draft provisional agenda of the World Conference, taking into account decision PC.1/13 adopted by the Preparatory Committee at its first session (A/CONF.189/PC.1/21, annex I).

In its decision PC.1/11 of 31 August 2007, entitled " Preparatory meetings and activities at the international, regional and national levels " adopted by the Preparatory Committee during its organizational session, States and regional organizations are called upon to hold international, regional and national meetings and/or to undertake other initiatives in preparation for the Durban Review Conference in line with its objectives.

The Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean Preparatory to the Durban Review Conference was held in Brasilia from 17 to 19 June 2008, pursuant to the provisions of decision PC.1/11 adopted by the Preparatory Committee for the Durban Review Conference on 31 August 2007 (A/62/375).
160- عُقد المؤتمر الإقليمي لأمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي التحضيري لمؤتمر ديربان الاستعراضي في برازيليا في الفترة من 17 إلى 19 حزيران/يونيه 2008 عملاً بأحكام المقرر ل ت-1/11 الذي اعتمدته اللجنة التحضيرية لمؤتمر ديربان الاستعراضي في 31 آب/أغسطس 2007 (A/62/375).
