1. Welcomes the initiative of the States members of the Caribbean Community to erect in the halls of the United Nations a permanent memorial in acknowledgement of the tragedy and in consideration of the legacy of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade;
1 - ترحب بمبادرة الدول الأعضاء في الجماعة الكاريبية الرامية إلى إقامة نصب تذكاري دائم في قاعات الأمم المتحدة إقرارا بالمأساة واعتبارا للإرث الذي خلفه الرق وتجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي؛

It will also serve as an opportunity to acknowledge the legacy of slavery as being at the heart of situations of profound social and economic inequality, hatred, bigotry, racism and prejudice, which continue to affect people of African descent today.
كما أن هذا الحدث سيكون بمثابة فرصة للاعتراف بأن التراث الذي خلفه الرق هو في صميم أوضاع الظلم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي البيِّن، والكراهية، والتعصب، والعنصرية، والتحامل، التي ما برحت تؤثر في الشعوب المنحدرة من أصل أفريقي حتى هذا اليوم.

In accordance with General Assembly resolution 62/122, the memorial, when completed, will be erected on United Nations premises in acknowledgement of the tragedy and in consideration of the legacy of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade.
ووفقا لقرار الجمعية العامة 62/122، سيقام النصب التذكاري، عند اكتماله، في قاعات الأمم المتحدة إقرارا بالمأساة واعتبارا للإرث الذي خلفه الرق وتجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي.

إن العمل الذي تقوم به منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة (اليونسكو) للتصدي للإرث الذي خلفه الرق مع الإسهام في استعادة كرامة ضحايا الرق وتجارة الرقيق يتجلى بوضوح في مشروع طريق الرقيق.
