In this sense, we fully support the strides made to fulfil the yet to be attained internationally agreed target of 0.7 per cent of the gross national product of the developed countries for overall official development assistance as soon as possible.

Some donor countries have achieved or exceeded the accepted United Nations targets to allocate 0.7 per cent of gross national product for overall official development assistance and 0.15 per cent of gross national product for official development assistance for the least developed countries and are encouraged to continue to do so.

In this regard, the Council urges donor countries to strive to fulfil the internationally agreed target of 0.7 per cent of their gross national product for overall official development assistance as soon as possible. "

37. Despite the renewed commitment at the Summit by donor countries to meet the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of their gross national product for official development assistance, overall official development assistance has continued to decline.
37 - ورغم تجدد الالتزام في مؤتمر القمة من جانب البلدان المانحة بالوفاء بهدف تقديم 0.7 في المائة من ناتجها القومي الإجمالي للمساعدة الإنمائية الرسمية، استمرت المساعدة الإنمائية الرسمية عموما في التناقص.

The international community should strive for the fulfilment of the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of the gross national product for overall official development assistance and endeavour to increase the share of funding for population and development programmes commensurate with the scope and scale of activities required to achieve the objectives and goals of the present Programme of Action.
١٤-١١ ينبغي للمجتمع الدولي أن يسعى جاهدا إلى الوفاء بالهدف المتفق عليه وهو تخصيص ٠,٧ فى المائة من الناتج القومي اﻹجمالي للمساعدة اﻹنمائية الرسمية عموما وأن يحاول جاهدا زيادة حصة التمويل المخصص لبرامج السكان والتنمية بما يتناسب مع حجم ونطاق اﻷنشطة اللازمة لتحقيق أهداف ومقاصد برنامج العمل هذا.

(b) Striving for the fulfilment of the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of gross national product for overall official development assistance (ODA) as soon as possible, and increasing the share of funding for social development programmes, commensurate with the scope and scale of activities required to achieve the objectives and goals of the Declaration and Programme of Action;

In the period from 1993 to 2008, total contributions for operational activities for development grew at a faster pace than overall official development assistance flows from Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)/Development Assistance Committee (DAC) countries (excluding debt relief).
