In that connection, his delegation endorsed the recommendation of the Acting High Commissioner regarding the need to pursue efforts to create a culture where tolerance and respect for the other, rather than violence, prevailed.

The timely intervention of the Acting High Commissioner through the submission of an emergency report to the Commission in the heat of the Liberian crisis and strong representation of OHCHR at the planning phase of UNMIL has secured a strong human rights mandate for the mission.
وإن تدخُّل المفوض السامي بالنيابة في الوقت المناسب، من خلال تقديم تقرير طارئ إلى اللجنة في ذروة الأزمة الليبيرية والحضور المكثف لمفوضية حقوق الإنسان أثناء مرحلة التخطيط لبعثة الأمم المتحدة في ليبيريا، أمّن للبعثة ولاية قوية في مجال رصد حقوق الإنسان.
