We congratulate the Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü, on his election and on assuming that function this year.

The 1995 ISMUN Summer School held in Geneva in July 1995 focused on " Strengthening the Economic and Social Role of the United Nations " and was opened by the President of the Council, Ambassador Ahmad Kamal.
