4. Financial information relating to the United Nations escrow account established under the provisions of Security Council resolution 986 (1995) is reported to the Security Council committee established by resolution 661 (1990) concerning the situation between Iraq and Kuwait.

(i) Separate financial statements for the United Nations escrow account established under the provisions of Security Council resolution 980 (1995) are issued at six-month intervals. The peacekeeping accounts are reported on separately for the fiscal year from 1 July to 30 June.

(c) The United Nations escrow Account (statement VIII) includes as expenditure amounts transferred to the United Nations Compensation Commission (statement IX) of $38.4 million, to the Special Account for activities approved under Security Council resolutions 687 and 706 (statement X) of $51.5 million and to the Trust Fund for Humanitarian Relief in Iraq (schedule 7.1.1.) of $93.5 million.

The financial results reported relate to all activities of the United Nations other than those of peacekeeping operations and the United Nations escrow account established under the provisions of Security Council resolution 986 (1995), which are reported on separately, and other than those special programmes whose activities are reported to the General Assembly separately by their executive heads (see para. 20).

(c) The United Nations escrow account (statement X) includes as expenditure $6.6 million transferred as income to the United Nations Compensation Commission (statement XI), $18.1 million transferred as income to the special account for activities approved under Security Council resolutions 687 (1991) and 706 (1991) (statement XII), and $17.2 million transferred as income to the Trust Fund for Humanitarian Relief in Iraq (schedule 9.1).
