UNODC was involved in the development of informal asset seizure networks, such as the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for Southern Africa and the asset recovery network of the Financial Action Task Force for South America against Money Laundering (GAFISUD), to assist prosecutors and investigators in the identification, tracing, freezing, seizure, confiscation and recovery of proceeds of crime.
