Succeeding summits and ministerial conferences of the Organization of the Islamic Conference had reaffirmed the continuing responsibility of UNRWA toward the refugees until such time as the Israeli occupations of Palestinian and Arab territories came to an end and the right of the refugees to return to their homeland was recognized, as provided for in General Assembly resolution 194 (III) and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
