The data shows no significant differences in mortality rates between Omani nationals and the expatriate community (10.5:9.7 for infants and 12.4:12.2 for under-5s).

12. According to the 2007 annual census of the Ministry of National Economy, the Sultanate of Oman has a population of some 2,750,000, of whom 70 per cent are Omani. Females comprise 49.5 per cent of the Omani population.

Approximately 58.7 per cent of all Omanis working in the Ministry of Health were women.
