We are all aware that the Declaration and the Plan of Action adopted by the World Summit for Children constitute an international commitment whose implementation has been followed up with the greatest possible rigour.

287. The Committee notes that the Government of Nigeria has prepared a national plan of action in response to the recommendations and goals enunciated in the Declaration and Plan of Action adopted by the World Summit for Children in September 1990.

6. The objectives of the special session identified by the General Assembly include both evaluating the effectiveness of implementation of the Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action adopted at the Summit and deciding on further initiatives for achieving these commitments.

The Committee also notes with appreciation that the Government of Mauritius has prepared and implemented the National Programme of Action for the Survival, Development and Protection of Children in response to the recommendations and goals enunciated in the Declaration and Plan of Action adopted by the World Summit for Children in September 1990.
٣٩٨ - وتلاحظ اللجنة أيضا مع التقدير أن حكومة موريشيوس قد أعدت ونفذت برنامج العمل الوطني من أجل بقاء الطفل ونمائه وحمايته استجابة للتوصيات واﻷهداف المبينة في اﻹعلان وخطة العمل اللذين اعتمدهما مؤتمر القمة العالمي من أجل اﻷطفال في أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٠.
