Additional contribution is paid owing to increased risks that arise from injuries at work and occupational diseases when working with means representing a threat or in conditions that damage the health of employees.

Pursuant to the Law On State Social Insurance all employees who have reached the age of 15 are subject to social insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases.

4. Accidents at work and occupational diseases

472. Insurance against injury at work and occupational diseases is regulated within the system of compulsory health insurance and pension and disability insurance, in the following manner:

These acts reformed the previous social welfare system. They ensure the following forms of social insurance: retirement and disability pensions, survivor pensions, sickness benefits and maternal benefits, as well as benefits related to accidents at work and occupational diseases.
وقد أصلحت هذه القوانين نظام الرعاية الاجتماعية السابق، وهي تضمن أشكال الضمان الاجتماعي التالية: المعاشات التقاعدية، ومعاشات العجز، ومعاشات المتوفى عنهم، ومستحقات المرض، ومستحقات الأمومة، وكذلك المستحقات المتعلقة بحوادث العمل والأمراض المهنية.

326. The same comments concerning the two concurrent pension systems apply in this case as well, while it may be noted that the insurance scheme for accidents at work and occupational illnesses includes its own survivor benefits.

370. With regard to both these aspects, insurance cover for accidents at work and occupational illnesses and family benefits, the Government is currently studying amendments to the legislation which would extend social security benefits to all independent workers.

(a) The conduct of preventive measures designed to remove harmful and hazardous production factors, to prevent accidents at work and occupational illnesses and other circumstances which threaten the health of the insured persons and are attributable to their working conditions;

448- وتتمتع الفئات التالية أيضا بالتأمين من الإصابة في العمل والأمراض المهنية:

231. Social insurance against accidents at work and against occupational illnesses is provided in the form of subsidies paid when employees become temporarily unable to work or as monthly benefits or lumpsum payments and also in the form of additional payments scaled to the extent of injury suffered by the victim.
231- ويكون التأمين الاجتماعي ضد حوادث العمل والأمراض المهنية على شكل إعانات تُدفع إذا تعرض الموظفون لعجز مؤقت عن العمل أو كاستحقاقات شهرية أو مبلغ إجمالي، وكذلك على شكل مدفوعات إضافية تتناسب مع إصابة الضحية.

These initiatives also enhance the knowledge of employers and employees on health hazards and occupational diseases, and help them take suitable precautionary measures against work injuries and occupational diseases.
