In the light of the text of the judgements of the District Court of Michalovce, the Regional Court of Košice and the Constitutional Court, the Committee notes that the petitioners' claims were examined in accordance with the Anti-Discrimination Act, which specifically regulates and penalizes acts of racial or ethnic discrimination.

25. The Committee notes the persistently low number of proceedings and convictions for racial discrimination despite many manifestations of racial or ethnic discrimination and stereotypes.
25- وتلاحظ اللجنة أن عدد الدعاوى القضائية المرفوعة والإدانات الصادرة فيما يتعلق بالتمييز العنصري لا يزال قليلاً على الرغم من ظواهر التمييز العنصري أو الإثني والصور النمطية المتعلقة بذلك.

61. We also recognize with deep concern the existence of religious intolerance against other religious communities, as well as the emergence of hostile acts and violence against such communities because of their religious beliefs and their racial or ethnic origin in various parts of the world, in particular limitation to their right to freely practise their belief;

585. A number of Governments took steps to overcome barriers to health care faced by indigenous women, such as geographic isolation, cultural and linguistic barriers, poor economic status and racial or ethnic discrimination.
585- واتخذ عدد من الحكومات تدابير ترمي إلى تخطي العقبات التي تواجه نساء الشعوب الأصلية في مجال الرعاية الصحية من قبيل العزلة الجغرافية والحواجز الثقافية واللغوية والوضع الاقتصادي المتردي والتمييز العنصري أو الإثني.

Furthermore, in the light of its general recommendation No. 19 (1995) on article 3 of the Covenant, the Committee encourages the State party to monitor all tendencies which may give rise to racial or ethnic de facto segregation and endeavour to combat the negative consequences of such tendencies.

Article 102 states that any act of racial or ethnic discrimination as well as any regionalist propaganda and any manifestation contrary to freedom of conscience or freedom of worship that is likely to set persons against each other is punishable by 5 years' imprisonment and a prohibition of residence.
المادة 102- يعاقب على أي فعل من أفعال التمييز العنصري أو الإثني أو الديني، وأية دعاية جهوية، وكذلك أي مظهر مناف لحرية الوجدان وحرية العبادة، يكون من شأنه أن يحرض مواطنين ضد آخرين، بالسجن من سنة إلى خمس سنوات وبالنفي.
