Benin urgently demands that the Liberian factions take advantage of this last opportunity and strictly abide by the Abuja decisions, in order to speed up the return of their country to normality.

Burkina Faso, as a member of the Committee of Nine on Liberia of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), was privileged to act as witness to that Agreement between the Liberian factions.

" ٦ - يحث أيضا جميع الدول اﻷعضاء على توفير المساعدة المالية والسوقية وغيرها من أشكال المساعدة دعما لفريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا بغية تمكينه من الاضطلاع بولايته، وخاصة فيما يتعلق بتجميع الفصائل الليبرية ونزع سلاحها؛

Urges also all Member States to provide financial, logistical and other assistance in support of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group to enable it to carry out its mandate, particularly with respect to assembly and disarmament of the Liberian factions;
" ٧ - يحث أيضا جميع الدول اﻷعضاء على تقديم المساعدة المالية والسوقية وغيرهما من أشكال المساعدة دعما لفريق الرصد لتمكينه من الاضطلاع بولايته، وبخاصة فيما يتعلق بتجميع الفصائل الليبرية ونزع أسلحتها؛

I call, once again, on the Liberian faction leaders to do all they can to give peace a chance, to save innocent civilians from death and suffering, and to avoid the continuing destruction of Liberia as a result of their inability to settle their differences.

732. The Liberian factional leaders agreed on 19 August 1995 to end hostilities and to hold elections within a year.
