While welcoming the intention of the Government to launch " Poverty Free Egypt " and the statement by the delegation that child poverty alleviation will be a priority issue in the planned National Plan of Action for Children, the Committee is seriously concerned at the high level of and increase in poverty in the State party.
72- ترحب اللجنة باعتزام الحكومة إطلاق مبادرة " مصر خالية من الفقر " ، وبالبيان الذي أدلى به الوفد ومفاده أن التخفيف من حدة فقر الأطفال سيكون مسألة ذات أولوية في خطة العمل الوطنية من أجل الطفل المزمع تنفيذها، ولكنها تشعر بقلق بالغ إزاء ارتفاع مستوى الفقر في الدولة الطرف وتزايده.

The Committee is also concerned at the poor management of and deterioration of natural resources, which has led to constant migration from rural to urban areas and has contributed to the increasing prevalence of poverty in the State party in spite of its significant economic growth rate.
وتشعر اللجنة بالقلق أيضاً إزاء سوء إدارة الموارد الطبيعية وتدهورها وهو ما أدى إلى استمرار النزوح من المناطق الريفية إلى المناطق الحضرية وأسهم في زيادة انتشار الفقر في الدولة الطرف على الرغم من المعدل العالي لنموها الاقتصادي.

440. In spite of the growth of the gross domestic product, the Committee is concerned about the widespread poverty in the State party and the still high number of children who do not enjoy the right to an adequate standard of living, including access to clean drinking water, adequate housing and latrines.

579. While welcoming measures undertaken to fight poverty, including the Action Programme against Poverty and Social Exclusion, adopted in 2000, the Committee is concerned about the incidence of poverty in the State party, particularly among Roma and singleparent families.
579- إذ ترحب اللجنة بالتدابير المتخذة لمحاربة الفقر، بما فيها برنامج العمل لمكافحة الفقر والاستبعاد الاجتماعي، المعتمد في عام 2000، فإنها تشعر بقلق إزاء انتشار الفقر في الدولة الطرف وخصوصاً بين طائفة غجر الروما والأسر التي يرعاها أحد الوالدين منفرداً.

19. While noting that the National Plan of Action for Social Inclusion aims at combating poverty and at integrating the most disadvantaged and marginalized groups into society as a whole, the Committee regrets the lack of data on the number and condition of persons living in poverty in the State party.
19- وبالرغم من إحاطة اللجنة علماً بأن خطة العمل الوطنية للإدماج الاجتماعي تهدف إلى مكافحة الفقر وإدماج أكثر الفئات حرماناً وتهميشاً في المجتمع ككل، فإنها تأسف لعدم وجود بيانات بشأن عدد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من الفقر في الدولة الطرف والظروف التي يعيشون فيها.

44. The Committee is concerned at the feminization of poverty in the State party and notes that 57 per cent of women are beneficiaries of the non-contributory social security scheme and that 36 per cent of families receiving the guaranteed minimum income are women living alone or women supporting children.
