The best-known case in which the Court may have found such an acquiescence is the Case concerning the Temple of Preah Vihear, where it placed decisive emphasis on the fact that there had been clear assertions of sovereignty by one side (France) which, according to the Court, required a reaction on the part of the other side (Thailand).
