The Committee noted with satisfaction that the Third African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development had been held in Algiers from 30 November to 2 December 2009, under the patronage of the President of Algeria.
34- ولاحظت اللجنة بارتياح أن مؤتمر القيادات الأفريقية الثالث بشأن تسخير علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لأغراض التنمية المستدامة، قد عُقد في الجزائر العاصمة، من 30 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر إلى 2 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009، تحت رعاية رئيس الجزائر.

We commend the African Leadership for their vision in launching NEPAD, an Africa-led, Africa-owned and Africa-driven initiative providing an integrated and comprehensive framework for Africa's sustainable growth and development.

The Subcommittee noted that the Second African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development, with the theme " Building African partnerships in space " had been held in Pretoria from 2 to 5 October 2007.
