While acknowledging the important role of the Uganda Human Rights Commission in the promotion and protection of human rights in Uganda, the Committee is concerned about the frequent lack of implementation by the State party of the Commission's decisions concerning both awards of compensation to victims of torture and the prosecution of human rights offenders in the limited cases in which the Commission had recommended such prosecution.
95- واللجنة، إذ تقرّ بما تنهض به اللجنة الأوغندية لحقوق الإنسان من دور هام في تعزيز حقوق الإنسان وحمايتها في أوغندا، يساورها القلق لأن الدولة الطرف لا تنفذ في كثير من الأحيان قرارات اللجنة فيما يتعلق بكل من تعويض ضحايا التعذيب ومقاضاة مرتكبي انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في الحالات القليلة التي أوصت فيها اللجنة بالتعويض والمقاضاة على ذلك.

21. OHCHR has been supporting the Ugandan Human Rights Commission in strengthening its complaints handling system.
