In 2003, the World Committee on Tourism Ethics was established by the General Assembly of UNWTO under Part I of its Protocol of Implementation.

The nine principles set forth in the Code provide clear guidelines and recommendations that are both policy-driven and action-oriented for all tourism stakeholders, while the tenth is monitored and administered by the World Committee on Tourism Ethics.

3. Notes the approval by the World Committee on Tourism Ethics of the Procedures for Consultation and Conciliation for the Settlement of Disputes concerning the Application of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism;

9. By the same resolution, the General Assembly decided to refer Part II of the Protocol of Implementation related to the conciliation mechanism for the settlement of disputes to the World Committee on Tourism Ethics for review.

14. The tasks assigned by the WTO General Assembly to the World Committee on Tourism Ethics are threefold:

In 2001, the WTO General Assembly adopted Part I of its Protocol of Implementation, which created the World Committee on Tourism Ethics -- a body responsible for interpreting, applying and evaluating the provisions of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.

III. the World Committee on Tourism Ethics 10. With the adoption in 2001 of Part I of the Protocol of Implementation, entitled " World Committee on Tourism Ethics -- body responsible for interpreting, applying and evaluating the provisions of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism " , the WTO General Assembly also decided to start the process of appointing the members of the Committee.

23. At its first meeting, in February 2004, the World Committee on Tourism Ethics decided to carry out an extensive survey among WTO members with a view to assessing the actual degree of implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism worldwide and establishing an inventory of the measures taken so far to promote and disseminate this instrument.
23 - قررت اللجنة العالمية لأخلاقيات السياحة في اجتماعها الأول المعقود في شباط/ فبراير 2004، إجراء دراسة استقصائية موسعة فيما بين أعضاء المنظمة العالمية للسياحة بهدف تقييم الدرجة الفعلية لتنفيذ المدونة على النطاق العالمي ووضع قائمة بالتدابير المتخذة حتى الآن للترويج لهذا الصك ونشره.

35. At its first session, in Rome in February 2004, the World Committee on Tourism Ethics entrusted the WTO secretariat with the preparation of implementation parameters to assist in the interpretation of the provisions of the Code of Ethics and in the evaluation of the degree of implementation of the latter.

41. After an arduous process of constitution, it now appears that the World Committee on Tourism Ethics has adopted the right approach in dealing with ethical principles and questions related to tourism and is proceeding, step by step, in an overall satisfactory and competent manner.
41 - و يظهر في الوقت الحاضر أن اللجنة العالمية لأخلاقيات السياحة بعد عملية تشكيلها الشاقة، قد أقرت النهج السليم اللازم لمعالجة مبادئ ومسائل الأخلاقيات المتصلة بالسياحة وهي تتقدم خطوة خطوة بصورة مرضية وتتسم بالكفاءة بوجه عام.

38. Moreover, the General Assembly of UNWTO has entrusted the UNWTO Secretary-General to seek advice from the World Committee on Tourism Ethics on ways to further facilitate the movement of tourists, with a special emphasis on these two groups of persons with disabilities and persons affected by HIV.

56. After providing further information concerning the content of the report, he said that UNWTO hoped that the United Nations would continue to lend its valuable support for the continued dissemination and implementation of the Global Code and the work of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics.
