21. The Committee expresses its concern at the insufficient measures taken to preserve the ethnic languages spoken in the State party, in particular the non-written languages, which are part of the national cultural heritage (art. 5 (e)).
21- وتعرب اللجنة عن قلقها إزاء قصور التدابير المتخذة للمحافظة على اللغات الإثنية المنطوق بها في الدولة الطرف، وخاصة منها اللغات غير المكتوبة، والتي تعَدّ جزءاً من التراث الثقافي الوطني (المادة 5(ﻫ)).

CERD urged the country to preserve the cultural heritage of ethnic groups, including their languages, and recommended the documentation of ethnic languages, traditional knowledge and cultures, and development of their teaching in school.
وحثت اللجنة البلد على الحفاظ على التراث الثقافي للجماعات الإثنية، بما في ذلك لغاتها، وأوصت بتوثيق اللغات الإثنية والمعارف والثقافات التقليدية، وتطوير تعليمها في المدارس(93).

Moreover, while taking note of pilot projects announced by the State party for the teaching of ethnic languages in schools, the Committee remains concerned that many ethnic children have limited opportunities to learn their language (art. 5 (e)).

The State party should also strengthen efforts to protect and conserve ethnic languages by teaching them in schools, as well as raise awareness among media professionals of their responsibility not to disseminate stereotypes and prejudices of ethnic groups (ibid., para. 19).
كما أوصت الدولة الطرف بأن تعزز الجهود الرامية إلى حماية اللغات الإثنية والحفاظ عليها بتدريسها في المدارس، وبأن تنشر الوعي في صفوف العاملين في وسائط الإعلام بشأن مسؤوليتهم عن عدم نشر القوالب النمطية والتحيز تجاه المجموعات الإثنية (المرجع نفسه، الفقرة 19).
