speakers mentioned, among other things, the importance of school-based prevention programmes, campaigns to raise public awareness about the risks and related consequences of using psychoactive substances, and the involvement of the media, the entertainment industry and other sectors having a strong influence on attitudes and behaviour among youth.

speakers unanimously recognized that prosecutors' corrupt and unethical behaviors were unacceptable and any effort should be made to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to them.

speakers also stressed that public confidence in the role of prosecutors could benefit from greater cooperation and dialogue with civil society and local communities in the implementation of crime prevention and criminal justice policies.

33. speakers also recognized that existing initiatives aimed at enhancing regional and international cooperation in criminal matters could be regarded as useful examples to be analyzed, supported and possibly expanded.
