Urges all Member States, the United Nations Development Programme and other programmes and bodies related to the Economic and Social Council, as well as the specialized agencies, to give high priority and full support in their particular fields of operational activities to technical cooperation among developing countries;

However, the People's Republic of China and United Nations officials often invoke General Assembly resolution 2758 (XXVI) to prevent governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and even individuals from Taiwan from participating in the activities of the United Nations, including all activities related to the Economic and Social Council.
بيد أن جمهورية الصين الشعبية، فضلا عن المسؤولين في الأمم المتحدة، كثيرا ما يتذرعون بقرار الجمعية العامة 2758 (د-26) لكي يمنعوا الوكالات الحكومية، والمنظمات غير الحكومية، بل وحتى أفراد الشعب في تايوان، من المشاركة في أنشطة الأمم المتحدة، بما فيها جميع الأنشطة المتصلة بالمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.

1.58 The provision of $26,900 would cover costs of official functions and group hospitality of a protocol character, such as the activities related to the Economic and Social Council, United Nations Day, joint meetings with regional organizations, celebration of international days in association with academic and public institutions, as well as for visits of Heads of State and Government and of official bodies and representatives visiting Geneva.
١-٥٨ سيغطي توفير مبلغ ٩٠٠ ٢٦ دولار تكاليف الحفلات الرسمية وضيافة المجموعات التي تدخل في نطاق المراسم من مثل اﻷنشطة المتصلة بالمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ويوم اﻷمم المتحدة والاجتماعات المشتركة مع المنظمات اﻹقليمية والاحتفال باﻷيام الدولية بالتعاون مع المؤسسات اﻷكاديمية والعامة، فضلا عن زيارات رؤساء الدول أو الحكومات وعن ممثلي الهيئات الرسمية الذين يزورون جنيف.
