36. The Advisory Committee recalls that, in section VIII of its resolution 59/296, the General Assembly expressed concern at the practice of hiring individual contractors or individuals on procurement contracts for functions of a continuing nature and requested the Secretary-General to revert to the Assembly for its consideration of the creation of a post if the function was so warranted.

The General Assembly, in section VIII of its resolution 59/296, expressed concern at the practice of hiring individual contractors or individuals on procurement contracts for functions of a continuing nature and requested the Secretary-General to revert to the Assembly for its consideration of the creation of a post if the function was so warranted.
