Members of the Committee shall exercise their functions in an independent and impartial manner in accordance with the Guidelines on the independence and impartiality of members of the human rights treaty bodies which are included as an annex of these rules of procedure and form an integral part thereof.

1. The Chairperson shall perform the functions conferred upon him or her by the Convention, by these rules of procedure and the Guidelines on the independence and impartiality of members of the Committee included in the annex to the present rules of procedure.
