620. The Committee notes that both the Code on Children and Adolescents, and the ParentChild Relatives Act, contain provisions protecting the principle of respect for the views of the child, but it is concerned at the limited implementation in practice, in particular in the family and in schools, of the right of the child to express his/her views.

(a) Allocate sufficient resources and increase the efforts in order to adequately implement the Code on Children and Adolescents in all departments, including by creating juvenile courts throughout the country;

Some children, in particular those separated from the armed groups formed after the demobilization of paramilitary organizations, were referred to the Attorney General's Office for prosecution in accordance with the Law on Childhood and Adolescence (8 November 2006) (Codigo de la Infancia y Adolescencia, Ley 1098).
