Under rule 39 of its provisional rules of procedure, the Council extended an invitation to Miroslav Lajčák, High Representative for the Implementation of the Peace Agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina.

2. The Peace Agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina signed in Paris on 14 December 1995 and the Erdut agreement on Eastern Slavonia have created a true opportunity for stabilizing and rehabilitating the whole Balkan area.

وعملا بالتفاهم الذي تم التوصل إليه في مشاورات المجلس السابقة، وجه الرئيس، بموافقة المجلس، دعوة بموجب البند 39 من النظام الداخلي المؤقت للمجلس إلى بادي أشدون، الممثل السامي لتنفيذ اتفاق السلام المتعلق بالبوسنة والهرسك.

The programme falls severely short of the consensus decision on Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted by the London Conference and seems to give up hope of implementing the Vance-Owen Peace Plan. It would deny the right of self-defence to Bosnia and Herzegovina and defer any effective enforcement action.
والبرنامج قاصر بصورة شديدة عن تحقيق أهداف القرار المتعلق بالبوسنة والهرسك الذي اعتمده بتوافق اﻵراء مؤتمر لندن ويبدو أنه يقطع اﻷمل في تنفيذ خطة فانس - أوين للسلم، ومن شأنه أن يهضم حق البوسنة والهرسك في الدفاع عن النفس ويرجى اتخاذ أي إجراء إنفاذ فعال.

Pursuant to Section II of the Agreement relating to Bosnia and Herzegovina to be concluded in Geneva,

It should be noted that some countries contributing troops to UNPROFOR have expressed interest in joining IFOR, which would implement the peace agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
وتجدر اﻹشارة الى أن بعض البلدان المساهمة بقوات في قوة اﻷمم المتحدة للحماية قد أعربت عن اهتمامها بالانضمــام الــى قوة اﻹنفاذ التي ستنفذ اتفاق السلام المتعلق بالبوسنة والهرسك.
