At the same meeting, the Board decided to submit the following text to the General Assembly for adoption within the framework of the resolution on international trade and development:

As a result, five resolutions on sustainable development contain a recognition of the importance of gender equality and women's empowerment and such references were additionally secured in the resolution on international trade and development (resolution 67/196).

14. Ms. Mills (Jamaica), speaking on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, said that no consensus had emerged from the informal consultations held on the draft resolution on international trade and development (A/C.2/60/L.18), submitted by the Group of 77 and China at the Committee's 25th meeting.

16. Mr. MOGOTSI (South Africa) said that, as host of the ninth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, South Africa welcomed the fact that the draft resolution on international trade and development had met with consensus and broad-based co-sponsorship, including the United States, the Russian Federation, Norway, Japan and Mexico.
