7. Also welcomes the work of the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the human rights of migrants in relation to the Convention, and encourages her to persevere in this endeavour;

It also agreed to explore the possibility at its fifty-ninth session of merging the resolution on the protection of migrants and their families with the resolution on the human rights of migrants, with a view to having one resolution covering all aspects of migrant rights and their protection.
كما وافقت على القيام في دورتها التاسعة والخمسين باستطلاع إمكانية دمج القرار المتعلق بحماية المهاجرين وأسرهم في القرار المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين بغية الخروج بقرار يشمل جميع جوانب حقوق المهاجرين وحمايتهم.

The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the General Assembly the report on the human rights of migrants submitted by Gabriela Rodríguez Pizarro, Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 58/190 and Commission resolution 2004/53.

(d) Resolution 2002/62 on the human rights of migrants requests the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants in carrying out her mandate to request, receive and exchange information on violations of the human rights of migrants, inter alia, with treaty bodies;

In its resolution 2002/59, the Commission agreed to explore the possibility at its fiftyninth session of merging the resolution on the protection of migrants and their families with the resolution on the human rights of migrants, with a view to having one resolution covering all aspects of migrant rights and their protection.
133- وافقت اللجنة، في قرارها 2002/59، على القيام في دورتها التاسعة والخمسين باستطلاع إمكانية دمج القرار المتعلق بحماية المهاجرين وأسرهم في القرار المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين بغية الخروج بقرار يشمل جميع جوانب حقوق المهاجرين وحمايتهم.

37. In its resolution 2002/62, on the human rights of migrants, the Commission expressed concern at the manifestations of violence, racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance and inhuman and degrading treatment against migrants, especially women and children, in different parts of the world.
37 - وفي القرار 2002/62 المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين أعربت اللجنة عن القلق إزاء مظاهر العنف والعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وغيرها من أشكال التعصب والمعاملة اللاإنسانية والمهينة ضد المهاجرين، لا سيما النساء والأطفال، في مختلف أنحاء العالم.

As noted by the Global Migration Group in its statement dated 30 September 2010 on the human rights of migrants in an irregular situation, protecting the human rights of migrants is not only a legal obligation for States but also a matter of public interest and intrinsically linked to human development.
وكما لاحظت المجموعة العالمية المعنية بالهجرة في بيانها المؤرخ 30 أيلول/سبتمبر 2010 المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين ذوي الأوضاع غير الشرعية، فإن حماية حقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين ليست مجرد التزام قانوني على عاتق الدول بل هي أيضاً أمر يتعلق بالمصلحة العامة ويتصل اتصالاً عضوياً بالتنمية البشرية.

In resolution 20/3 on the human rights of migrants (see A/67/53 and Corr.1, chap. II), the Council reaffirmed that all migrants were entitled to equal protection by the law and that all persons, regardless of their migratory status, were equal before the courts and tribunals and were entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal.
وفي القرار 20/3 المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين (انظر A/67/53 و Corr.1، الفصل الثاني)، أعاد المجلس تأكيد حق العمال المهاجرين في التمتع على قدم المساواة بحماية القانون، وحق جميع الأشخاص، بصرف النظر عن وضعهم كمهاجرين، في المساواة أمام المحاكم والهيئات القضائية، وحقهم في محاكمة عادلة وعلنية أمام محكمة مختصة ومستقلة وحيادية.

In resolution 18/21 on the human rights of migrants (see A/66/53/Add.1 and Corr.1, chap. II), the Council expressed concern that female migrant workers engaged in domestic services were among the most vulnerable groups of migrant workers, some of whom were subject to abuse and exposure to health and safety threats without adequate information on associated risks and precautions.
وفي القرار 18/21، المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين (انظر A/66/53/Add.1 و Corr.1، الفصل الثاني)، أعرب المجلس عن قلقه لكون المهاجرات اللاتي يعملن في الخدمة المنزلية هن من بين فئات العمال المهاجرين الأشد ضعفا، حيث يتعرض بعضهن لأنماط متعددة من الانتهاكات البدنية والنفسية والجسدية، ولمخاطر صحية ومخاطر تتعلق بالسلامة، دون حصولهن على معلومات ملائمة بشأن ما يتصل بذلك من مخاطر وتدابير احتياطية.

46. Two reports under this agenda item included gender perspectives in their conclusions: the report on the human rights of migrants submitted by the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the human rights of migrants (see A/58/275) and the interim report on the elimination of all forms of religious intolerance submitted by the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on freedom of religion and belief (see A/58/296).
