The Commission also endorsed the proposed preparations for the 2000 World Population and Housing Census Programme including the necessary handbooks and training materials and recommended to the Economic and Social Council the adoption of a draft resolution on the Programme.
وكذلك أيدت اللجنة الخطوات التحضيرية المقدمة لبرنامج التعداد العالمي للسكان والمساكن لعام ٢٠٠٠، بما في ذلك الكتيبات ومواد التدريب، وأوصت المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي بأن يعتمد مشروع قرار بشأن هذا البرنامج.

In that connection, the Commission recommended to the Economic and Social Council the adoption of a draft resolution entitled " Promoting sustainability and integrality in alternative development as an important part of drug control strategy in States where illicit crops are grown to produce drugs " .
وفي هذا الصدد، أوصت اللجنة المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي بأن يعتمد مشروع القرار الأول المعنون " الترويج للاستدامة والتكامل في مجال التنمية البديلة باعتباره جزءا هاما من استراتيجية مكافحة المخدرات في الدول التي تزرع فيها المحاصيل غير المشروعة لإنتاج المخدرات " .
