That attention was galvanized through the Executive Secretary's efforts to place the Pacific more firmly in the centre of regional talks, and through preparatory sessions of the special bodies on Pacific island developing countries and least developed and landlocked developing countries that focused on development issues of special concern to those groups of countries.

As regards UNCTAD, the review of its budgetary requirements for the biennium 2004-2005 was conducted in line with that report so as to enable it to strengthen the capacities of developing countries, in particular the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing States, to implement the relevant programmes of action, especially those that pertain to these groups of countries.

ITC continued its commitment to prioritizing the most vulnerable countries, least developed countries, land-locked developing countries, small island developing States and sub-Saharan Africa, with 64 per cent of extrabudgetary expenditure dedicated to these groups of countries in 2013 (against a target of 50 per cent).
