My delegation is pleased to support the draft resolution on cooperation between the OIC and the United Nations that was submitted by Ambassador Kafando, the Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the United Nations, in his capacity as Chairman of the Islamic Group.

I have the honour and pleasure of speaking before the General Assembly on behalf of the Islamic Group. I would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the President for having secured the resumption of this emergency special session, one of whose goals is to combat one of the main problems that the Organization has been dealing with.
