The implementation of that resolution required the harmonization of fund categories in the drug and crime programme funds and the establishment and application of clear cost-sharing criteria in order to ensure that the two funds, the drugs and the crime programme funds, bore an appropriate and proportionate share of UNODC common costs.

The statistics and surveys component includes UNODC responsibilities to produce and disseminate accurate drug and crime statistics to support policy and trend analysis at the international level and to support countries in their efforts to produce and disseminate drug and crime statistics at the national level.

Increasingly, UNODC is spearheading regional initiatives to help prevent the destabilization of post-conflict countries by integrating drug and crime control into United Nations peacekeeping and peacebuilding missions.
36- ويتصدر المكتب باطراد مبادرات إقليمية للمساعدة في منع زعزعة الاستقرار في البلدان الخارجة من النزاعات من خلال دمج مكافحة المخدّرات والجريمة في الأعمال التي تضطلع بها بعثات الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام وبناء السلام.

Total general-purpose expenditure for the drug and crime programme funds will increase by a net $0.5 million (2.4 per cent), from $20.6 million in 2010-2011 to $21.1 million in 2012-2013.

It is important to note that, while the planned programme of work takes into account activities cutting across both the drugs and crime areas, the required resources will continue to be budgeted and accounted for under the two separate funds for drugs and crime.
