Pursuant to article 3, paragraphs 1 and 3, of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol and article 2, paragraphs 1 and 4, of the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971, the Director-General of WHO notified the Secretary-General of the following recommendations:

Welcoming also the joint letter dated 26 March 2012 sent by the DirectorGeneral of the World Health Organization and the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme to United Nations country teams to support country-level work on noncommunicable diseases in a coordinated manner,
وإذ يرحب أيضا بالرسالة المشتركة المؤرخة 26 آذار/مارس 2012 التي أرسلتها المديرة العامة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية ومديرة برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي إلى الأفرقة القطرية التابعة للأمم المتحدة لدعم العمل الذي يجري الاضطلاع به على الصعيد القطري بشأن الأمراض غير المعدية على نحو منسق،

Recalling in particular that the sixty-fourth World Health Assembly, in its resolution 64.9, requested the Director General of the World Health Organization to convey to the Secretary-General of the United Nations the importance of universal health coverage for discussion by a forthcoming session of the General Assembly,
