The Committee is concerned at the low and declining rate of representation of women in decision-making positions in all spheres, particularly in Parliament (3.9 per cent, as compared to 6.6 per cent in 2006 and 11.8 per cent in 2000) and at the top-level decision-making positions (5.2 per cent in 2006 and 9.4 per cent in 2002) as well as in the public and private sectors.
