The Republic of Korea signed the treaty when it opened for signature on 24 September 1996 and deposited its instrument of ratification on 24 September 1999.

China favours the comprehensive consideration of such factors as the intention of the parties to the treaty, the nature and extent of the armed conflict and the effect of the armed conflict on the treaty when armed conflict occurs, in order to ascertain whether a treaty is susceptible to termination, withdrawal or suspension.
تفضل الصين النظر بصورة شاملة إلى عوامل من قبيل نية الأطراف في المعاهدة، وطبيعة النزاع المسلح ونطاقه، وأثر النزاع المسلح على المعاهدة عند نشوب النزاعات المسلحة بهدف التيقن مما إذا كانت المعاهدة عرضة للإنهاء أو الانسحاب أو التعليق.

An objection formulated prior to the expression of consent to be bound by the treaty does not need to be formally confirmed by the objecting State or international organization at the time it expresses its consent to be bound if that State or that organization was a signatory to the treaty when it formulated the objection; it must be confirmed if the State or international organization had not signed the treaty.
لا يتطلب الاعتراض الذي يصاغ قبل الإعراب عن الموافقة على الالتزام بالمعاهدة تأكيدا رسميا من الدولة أو المنظمة الدولية المعترضة عند إعرابها عن الموافقة على الالتزام إذا كانت تلك الدولة أو المنظمة من الدول أو المنظمات الموقعة على المعاهدة عند صوغ الاعتراض؛ ويجب تأكيده إذا لم تكن الدولة أو المنظمة قد وقعت على المعاهدة.

By entering a reservation, a State purports to exclude or modify the legal effect of a particular provision of the treaty in its application to that State.
ويعني قيام دولة ما بإبداء تحفظ ما أنها تستبعد أو تعدﱢل اﻷثر القانوني لحكم معين من أحكام المعاهدة عند انطباقه على هذه الدولة.

With respect to States or international organizations which are already parties to a treaty when the reservation is formulated, however, the situation is different: It is their protracted silence -- generally for a period of 12 months -- or, in particular, the absence of any objection on their part which is considered as an acceptance of the reservation.
أما فيما يتعلق بالدول أو المنظمات الدولية التي تكون فعلا أطرافا في المعاهدة عند إبداء التحفظ، فإن الحال يختلف. فسكوتها المتواصل - لمدة 12 شهرا كقاعدة عامة - أو على الأدق غياب أي اعتراض من جانبها هو الذي يعتبر بمثابة قبول للتحفظ.

A reservation in the form of a unilateral statement could and should have but a single purpose, namely, to exclude or modify the legal effect of certain provisions of the treaty as they applied to the State that made the reservation.
والتحفظ الذي يتخذ شكل بيان صادر من جانب واحد لا يمكن أن يكون له وينبغي ألا يكون له إلا هدف واحد وهو استبعاد أو تعديل اﻷثر القانوني لبعض أحكام المعاهدة عند تطبيقها على الدولة التي أبدت التحفﱡظ.

In contrast, termination at end of term only provides for opportunities to terminate the treaty once every few years.
أما إنهاء المعاهدة عند انتهاء فترتها فلا يتيح سوى فرص لإنهائها مرة كل بضع سنوات.

The Commission is currently intensifying the process of establishing the Treaty’s verification regime, which needs to be capable of meeting the verification requirements of the Treaty at its entry into force.
وتكثﱢف اللجنة حاليا عملية إنشاء نظام التفتيش التابع للمعاهدة، ليصبح قادرا على تلبية متطلبات التحقق التي تنص عليها المعاهدة عند بدء نفاذها.
