II. DRAFT DECISIONS RECOMMENDED BY THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE on desertification

Additionally, the representative of the International Network of Non-Governmental Organizations on desertification (RIOD) presented a report on the participation of civil society in activities within the UNCCD framework in general, and in the elaboration and validation of the third national reports in particular.
بالإضافة إلى هذا، قدم ممثل الشبكة الدولية للمنظمات غير الحكومية المعنية بالتصحر تقريراً عن مشاركة المجتمع المدني في أنشطة تندرج في إطار اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر على العموم، وفي نطاق إعداد التقارير الوطنية الثالثة والتصديق عليها على الخصوص.

In this context and in order to fully build upon the comparative advantage of the Convention implementation process at the national level, the secretariat encouraged parties, when applicable, to consider entrusting their respective national committees on desertification with this task.

Therefore, there is an urgent need to make a survey of all institutions concerned with desertification at the national, subregional and regional levels and link all these institutions through a specialized network which will be responsible for coordinating their activities and unifying their efforts and methodologies of work in the field of combating desertification.
لذلك، توجد حاجة عاجلة إلى إجراء استقصاء لجميع المؤسسات المعنية بالتصحر على اﻷصعدة الوطنية ودون الاقليمية والاقليمية، وإلى ربط جميع هذه المؤسسات عن طريق شبكة متخصصة تكون مسؤولة عن تنسيق أنشطتها وتوحيد جهودها ومنهجيات عملها في ميدان مكافحة التصحر.

Moreover, the divergent ways both institutions interact with many funding mechanisms available in the field of drought and land degradation, as well as biodiversity and climate change adaptation, would have to be overcome.

46. The secretariat, in supporting CST, is called on to pursue the efforts it has already begun to build a network embracing the scientific institutions and technology centres dealing with desertification and the effects of drought.
٦٤- تُدعى اﻷمانة، سعياً منها لمساندة لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، إلى بذل الجهود التي شرعت فيها من أجل إقامة شبكة تضم المؤسسات العلمية ومراكز التكنولوجيا المعنية بالتصحر وآثار الجفاف.

The International Network of Non-Governmental Organizations to Combat Desertification (RIOD-LAC) is fully recognized as a vital element in the process.
والشبكة الدولية للمنظمات غير الحكومية المعنية بالتصحر في منطقة أمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي معترف بها اعترافاً تاماً باعتبارها عنصراً حيوياً في هذه العملية.
