In Poland, that policy was coordinated by the Department for Women, Family and Counteracting Discrimination, which had in late 2005 replaced the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men.

The text of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Optional Protocol has been placed on the official websites of many government institutions, including the Secretariat of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms. Zou Xiaoqiao said that she would like to know what had induced the Government to replace the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men with the Department for Women, Family and Counteracting Discrimination and how the Department's scope of action compared with that of the abolished Office.
11 - السيدة زو خياوكياو: أعربت عن رغبتها في أن تعرف السبب الذي حدا بالحكومة إلى استبدال مكتب المفوض الحكومي المعني بتكافؤ وضعي المرأة والرجل بإدارة شؤون المرأة والأسرة ومكافحة التمييز (الإدارة)، وعن نطاق عمل الإدارة مقارنة بنطاق عمل المكتب الذي تم إلغاؤه.

(a) The Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men wrote to all ministries and to the Central Statistical Office, asking them to prepare information on the implementation of those provisions of the convention that lie within their scope of duties.

The sixth periodic report states that following the establishment of the Office of Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men, the competencies of the Office were extended on 25 June 2002 to issues of discrimination on the basis of race, ethnic origin, religion, age and general orientation (para. 46).
7 - ذكر التقرير الدوري السادس أنه بعد إنشاء مكتب المفوض الحكومي المعني بتكافؤ وضعي المرأة والرجل وُسِّعَت اختصاصات المكتب بتاريخ 25 حزيران/يونيه 2002 لتشمل مسائل التمييز القائم على أساس العرق أو الأصل الإثني أو الدين أو العمر أو التوجُّه العام (الفقرة 46).

14. Ms. Kluzi-Rostkowska (Poland) said that the area of competence of the Department for Women, Family and Counteracting Discrimination comprised all the responsibilities of the former Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men, including the management of all related European Union programmes and resources, and, in addition, addressed family issues and all forms of discrimination.
