23. In evaluating the technical capacity of the applicant, the Commission took note of the scope of responsibilities of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, as well as information in relation to its marine expertise, particularly in the exploration of polymetallic nodules and polymetallic sulphides.
٢٣ - وعند تقييم القدرة التقنية لمقدم الطلب، أحاطت اللجنة علما بنطاق مسؤوليات المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية، فضلا عن المعلومات المتعلقة بخبرته البحرية، ولا سيما في مجال استكشاف العقيدات المتعددة الفلزات والكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات.

4. By a letter dated 8 April 2008, the Permanent Mission of Germany to the Authority informed the secretariat of the Authority of the nomination of Christian Reichert, head of the Geophysical subdivision of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, as a candidate to fill the vacant seat on the Commission.
4 - وفي رسالة مؤرخة 8 نيسان/أبريل 2008، أبلغت البعثة الدائمة لألمانيا لدى السلطة أمانة السلطة بتسمية كريستيان رايخِرت، رئيس الجهاز الفرعي للأبحاث الجيوفيزيائية في المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية، مرشحا لشغل المقعد الشاغر في اللجنة.

II. Completion of the training programme by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany
ثانيا - إتمام المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية في ألمانيا للبرنامج التدريبي

The training offered by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany was scheduled to begin between April and May 2014.

(b) Completion of the training programme by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany;

The application was submitted, pursuant to the Regulations on prospecting and exploration for polymetallic sulphides in the Area (ISBA/16/A/12/Rev.1, annex), by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany.
وقدم الطلب المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية باسم جمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية وفقا لنظام التنقيب عن الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات واستكشافها في المنطقة (ISBA/16/A/12/Rev.1، المرفق).

31. Accordingly, pursuant to regulation 23 (5) of the Regulations, the Commission recommends to the Council approval of the plan of work for exploration for polymetallic sulphides submitted by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany.
٣١ - وبناء على ذلك، وعملا بأحكام الفقرة 5 من المادة 23 توصي اللجنة بأن يوافق المجلس على خطة العمل المتعلقة باستكشاف الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات، المقدمة من المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية باسم جمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية.

1. Takes note of the report and recommendations of the Legal and Technical Commission related to an application for the approval of a plan of work for exploration for polymetallic sulphides submitted by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources transmitted to the Council, in particular paragraphs 28 to 31 thereof;
1 - يحيط علما بتقرير اللجنة القانونية والتقنية وتوصياتها إلى المجلس() بشأن طلب الموافقة على خطة عمل لاستكشاف الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات المقدَّم من المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية، ولا سيما فقراته من 28 إلى 31؛

The reserved areas in the application were contributed by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of the Federal Republic of Germany, Deep Ocean Resources Development Co., Ltd., the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Institut français de recherche pour l'exploitation de la mer.
وقد ساهم بالقطاعات المحجوزة المشمولة بالطلب المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية لجمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية، وشركة تنمية موارد أعماق المحيطات المحــدودة (Deep Ocean Resources Development Co., Ltd)، وحكومــة جمهوريـــة كوريــا، ومعهد البحوث الفرنسي لاستغلال البحار.

The reserved areas within the application were contributed by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) of Germany, Yuzhmorgeologyia and Interoceanmetal Joint Organization (IOM).
وقد ساهم في القطاعات المحجوزة ضمن الطلب المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية في جمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية (Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources)، ومركز يوجمورغيولوغيا (Yuzhmorgeologyia) ومنظمة إنترأوشنميتال المشتركة (Interoceanmetal Joint Organization).

18. In December 2013 applications for approval of plans of work for exploration were submitted by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany (polymetallic sulphides), Cook Islands Investment Corporation (polymetallic nodules) and Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais S.A. (cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts).
18 - وفي كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2013، وردت طلبات للموافقة على خطط العمل المتعلقة بالاستكشاف من المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية في ألمانيا (الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات) وشركة جزر كوك للاستثمار (العقيدات المتعددة الفلزات) وشركة التنقيب عن الموارد المعدنية (Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais S.A) (القشور المنغنيزية الحديدية الغنية بالكوبالت).

Noting that, on 17 December 2013, an application for the approval of a plan of work for exploration for polymetallic sulphides was submitted to the SecretaryGeneral of the Authority in accordance with the Regulations on Prospecting and Exploration for Polymetallic Sulphides in the Area by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany,
وإذ يلاحظ أن الأمين العام للسلطة الدولية تلقى، في 17 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2013، طلبا للموافقة على خطة عمل لاستكشاف الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات قدمه المعهد الاتحادي لعلوم الأرض والموارد الطبيعية، بتزكية من جمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية، وفقا لنظام التنقيب عن الكبريتيدات المتعددة الفلزات واستكشافها في المنطقة()،
