Encourages the competent international organizations, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank and other funding agencies to consider expanding their programmes within their respective fields of competence for assistance to developing countries and to coordinate their efforts, including in the allocation and application of Global Environment Facility funding;

To note with appreciation the assistance given by the Global Environment Facility to phase out ozone-depleting substances in countries with economies in transition, and the commitment by the Facility to continue providing in the future assistance to those countries with respect to all ozone-depleting substances.

Information submitted by Parties (FCCC/SBI/2004/MISC.14) and other information provided by the GEF, its implementing agencies and international organizations served as basis for analysing the effectiveness of capacity-building activities.

Action: The SBI will be invited to consider the information provided by the GEF on the operational procedures for the expedited financing of national communications from non-Annex I Parties. FCCC/SBI/2007/INF.2
19- الإجراء: تدعى الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ إلى النظر في المعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية بشأن الإجراءات التشغيلية للتعجيل بتمويل البلاغات الوطنية المقدمة من الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول.

23. As part of the assessment of the implementation of the Convention, the CRIC is also to review the information provided by the GEF in accordance with the memorandum of understanding between the COP and the Council of the GEF.

The SBI considered the information provided by the GEF on its operational procedures for the expedited financing of national communications from non-Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBI/2007/INF.2).
34- نظرت الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ في المعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية عن إجراءاته التشغيلية بشأن التعجيل بتمويل إعداد البلاغات الوطنية المقدمة من الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول للاتفاقية (FCCC/SBI/2007/INF.2).

Action:: The SBI will be invited to consider the information provided by the GEF in response to the invitation by the SBIcontained in the documents below referred to in paragraphs and , as well as views from Parties on their current experiences with the GEF and its implementing agencies, and to provide guidance thereon. FCCC/SBI/2007/INF.9
29- الإجراء: ستُدعى الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ إلى أن تنظر في المعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية() استجابة لدعوة الهيئة المشار إليها في الفقرتين 27 و28 وكذلك آراء الأطراف عن خبراتها الراهنة في المرفق ووكالاته المنفذة وتقديم الإرشادات في هذا الشأن.

The Conference noted the information provided by the GEF in response to guidance by the COP on the provision of financial support to non-Annex I Parties to support activities relating to technology needs assessments, and emphasized the need for the GEF to expedite action in providing support to Parties that have not yet carried out their needs assessments.
8- وأحاط المؤتمر علماً بالمعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية استجابة لإرشادات مؤتمر الأطراف بشأن تقديم الدعم المالي إلى الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول لدعم الأنشطة المتعلقة بتقييم الاحتياجات التكنولوجية، وأكد ضرورة تعجيل مرفق البيئة العالمية بالإجراءات في تقديم دعم إلى الأطراف التي لم تضطلع بعد بتقييم احتياجاتها.

The Conference welcomed information provided by the GEF on its support for activities relating to education, training and public awareness under Article 6 of the Convention, and urged the GEF to continue its work of exploring further opportunities to support the efforts of non-Annex I Parties to implement activities relating to Article 6 of the Convention and to report on progress to the COP at its eleventh session.

Decision XII/14. Continued assistance from the Global Environment Facility

In order to support the comprehensive review process, the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at its eighteenth session, requested the secretariat to prepare a paper for consideration at its nineteenth session, using information provided by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), relevant international organizations and bilateral and multilateral agencies.
ومن أجل تعزيز عملية الاستعراض الشامل، طلبت الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ، في دورتها الثامنة عشرة، إلى الأمانة أن تعد ورقة للنظر فيها خلال الدورة التاسعة عشرة، بالاستفادة من المعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية ومنظمات دولية ذات صلة ووكالات ثنائية ومتعددة الأطراف.

The SBI considered the information on financial support provided by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for the preparation of national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (nonAnnex I Parties).
18- نظرت الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ في المعلومات المقدمة من مرفق البيئة العالمية عن الدعم المالي المقدم لإعداد البلاغات الوطنية من الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول للاتفاقية().

- To note with appreciation the assistance given by the Global Environment Facility to the phase-out of ozone-depleting substances in countries with economies in transition, and to request the Facility to clarify its future commitment to providing continued assistance to these countries with respect to all ozone-depleting substances.
