In Commission decision 2002/105 and Sub-Commission resolution 2003/1, Governments, United Nations bodies and interested institutions were requested to provide relevant information to the Special Rapporteur.

The NGOs providing information to the Special Rapporteur on a regular basis include the Basel Action Network, CIEL, Earthjustice, Greenpeace, Human Rights Advocates and OXFAM.
