We believe that we have demonstrated our commitment to this approach in the negotiations for the decision adopted today and hope that the Conference as a whole will follow the same approach when we begin to address the substance of the decision taken.

We request that this statement be circulated as an official document of the Conference on Disarmament and we reserve our right to address again the consequences of the decision adopted today in a more comprehensive manner, as well as the various remarks made by CD members on this occasion.
ونطلب تعميم هذا البيان بوصفه وثيقة رسمية من وثائق مؤتمر نزع السلاح، ونحتفظ بحقنا في أن نتطرق مرة أخرى وبصورة أشمل إلى اﻵثار المترتبة على المقرر المعتمد اليوم فضلاً عن مختلف الملاحظات التي يبديها أعضاء مؤتمر نزع السلاح بهذه المناسبة.

The representatives of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela formally expressed their reservations on the decision adopted, stating that full consideration had not been given to meeting the specific needs and concerns of their countries in accordance with the Convention and the practice of the United Nations.

The matter had therefore been decided by the Executive Board, and there was no need for the Executive Director of UNFPA to report back to the Board on paragraph 3 of the adopted decision.
