Article 149 of the Yemeni Child Rights Act, on the protection of children from the effects of armed conflict, provides that the best interests of all children in need of special protection, including child victims of practices that are prohibited under the Optional Protocol, shall be safeguarded;
ينص قانون حقوق الطفل اليمني على مراعاة وحماية مصالح الطفل الفضلى لكافة الأطفال المحتاجين لحماية خاصة بما فيهم الأطفال ضحايا الممارسات المحظورة بموجب البروتوكول وقد أكد القانون ذلك في المادة 149 الخاصة بحماية الأطفال من آثار النزاع المسلح؛

In particular, the Committee urges the State party to promptly establish an effective system to detect and dismantle brothels and other places where child prostitution takes place and to control the production and dissemination of materials that advertise practices prohibited by the optional protocol such as pornography involving children.

Some civil society organizations, including the Shudhab Foundation for Childhood, the Democracy School, Siyaj, and the Children's Parliament, have participated in monitoring child victims of practices that are prohibited under the Optional Protocol and have helped to implement a number of protection, reintegration and family reunification programmes.
شاركت بعض منظمات المجتمع منها مؤسسة شوذب للطفولة والمدرسة الديمقراطية ومنظمة سياج وبرلمان الأطفال في رصد حالات الأطفال ضحايا الممارسات المحظورة بموجب البروتوكول الاختياري وساعدت في تنفيذ عدد من البرامج الهادفة لحمايتهم وإعادة إدماجهم ولم شمل أسرهم.

135. In addition, training was given to 900 police and Armed Forces officers on legal procedures for dealing with child victims of practices that are prohibited under the Optional Protocol.
135- كما تم تدريب عدد (900) شخص من ضباط القوات المسلحة وأفراد الشرطة حول أساليب التعامل القانوني مع الأطفال ضحايا الممارسات المحظورة بموجب هذا البروتوكول.

In a second report of 29 April 1991 by the same mission on assessing the loss of life and Iraqi practices against the civilian population, it is noted that interviews conducted by the mission revealed many instances of violations of one or more of the practices prohibited by the Fourth Geneva Convention.See note 6 above.
