The seminar aimed at facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices in the region concerning stockpile management and security and the destruction of surplus weapons.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency facilitated a meeting for fisheries officials from member countries of the Mechanism from 25 to 27 July 2012 in order to further the aim of promoting best practices in the region.
