4. Some delegations reiterated their commitment to reaching an agreement on the text of the draft convention preferably on the basis of the former coordinator's text.
4 - وأكدت بعض الوفود من جديد التزامها بالتوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن نص مشروع الاتفاقية محبذة أن يتم ذلك على أساس النص الذي أعده المنسق السابق.

Since only a few countries had been unable to join the consensus, the efforts to conclude such an instrument should be revived at the earliest opportunity, on the basis of the recommendations presented on 22 November 2005 by the former coordinator on mines other than anti-personnel mines.

3. Legally binding provisions on detectability and active life of MOTAPM are an integral and essential part of the former coordinator's Set of recommendations.
3- تشكل الأحكام الملزِمة قانوناً بشأن كشف الألغام غير الألغام المضادة للأفراد وحياتها النشطة جزءاً متمماً وأساسياً من مجموعة التوصيات التي وضعها المنسق السابق.

Delegations in favour of the text circulated by the former coordinator noted that paragraph 2 reflected the language and substance of comparable provisions of the 1997 International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings, which serves as a precedent for the use of such wording.
فقد أشارت الوفود المؤيدة للنص الذي عممه المنسق السابق إلى أن الفقرة 2 تعكس من حيث صيغتها ومضمونها أحكاما مماثلة في الاتفاقية الدولية لقمع الهجمات الإرهابية بالقنابل لعام 1997 تعتبر سابقة في استخدام مثل هذه العبارات.

Article 20 reproduces the text proposed by the former coordinator for article 18, contained in document A/57/37, annex IV. It is understood that all other amendments and proposals remain on the table.

40. Some delegations had reiterated their preference for the 2002 proposal submitted by the previous Coordinator (A/57/37, annex IV), which was based on previously accepted language drawn from the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings and other recent counter-terrorism instruments.

11. As regards to the issues of " detectability " and " active life " , many delegations indicated that they continue to support the adoption of legally-binding provisions on both pending issues, along the lines of chapters III and IV of the Set of Recommendations by the previous Coordinator, Ambassador Markku Reimaa of Finland.

Both, the proposal by the former co-ordinator and the proposal presented by the OIC countries exclude the application of the Convention when norms of IHL do apply.
