The Authority is entrusted with the responsibility of processing applications for approval of plans of work for exploration in accordance with Part XI of the Convention and the Implementing Agreement.
وقد أنيطت بها مسؤولية دراسة طلبات الموافقة على خطط عمل الاستكشاف وفقا للجزء الحادي عشر من الاتفاقية واتفاق التنفيذ.

(i) Rules, regulations and procedures for processing applications for approval of plans of work for exploration:

These recommendations include those relating to the approval of plans of work for activities in the Area, the protection of the marine environment, the establishment of an environmental monitoring programme for the Authority and the proceedings on behalf of the Authority that may be instituted before the Seabed Disputes Chamber.

16. Mention should be made in this context of four additional functions that the Authority is required to concentrate on under the terms of the Implementing Agreement which are directly related to the processing of applications for approval of plans of work for exploration:

Provide economic, technical and scientific inputs in the preparation and application of and monitoring compliance with the rules, regulations and procedures for processing applications for approval of plans of work for exploration, and for the conduct of activities in the Area as they progress;
توفير مدخلات اقتصادية وتقنية وعلمية في إعداد وتطبيق القواعد واﻷنظمة، واﻹجراءات لدراسة طلبات الموافقة على خطط عمل للاستكشاف، ولتسيير اﻷنشطة في المنطقة أثناء الاضطلاع بها، وفي رصد الامتثال لتلك القواعد واﻷنظمة واﻹجراءات؛

16. In this context, four other functions that the Authority is required to concentrate on under the terms of the Implementing Agreement which are directly related to the processing of applications for approval of plans of work for exploration, have to be taken into account.

6. Decides that, until an environment management plan is adopted, any application for the approval of a plan of work for exploration or exploitation in the areas of particular environmental interest referred to in paragraph 1 will be examined by the Legal and Technical Commission and the Council, taking into consideration the deliberations of the environmental management plan;
6 - يقرر أنه، إلى حين اعتماد خطة للإدارة البيئية، سيدرس أي طلب للحصول على الموافقة على خطط عمل للاستكشاف أو الاستغلال في المناطق ذات الأهمية البيئية الخاصة المشار إليها في الفقرة 1، من جانب اللجنة القانونية والتقنية والمجلس، مع مراعاة المداولات المتعلقة بخطة الإدارة البيئية؛
