A resource person gave a presentation on remote-sensing techniques for policy implementation that addresses reductions in emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries - the use of such techniques for forest monitoring and detection of forest degradation and the latest technologies available.
29- وقدم خبير عرضاً عن تقنيات الاستشعار عن بُعد لتنفيذ السياسات التي تعالج عمليات خفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الغابات وترديها في البلدان النامية - استخدام هذه التقنيات في رصيد الغابات وكشف تدهورها وأحدث التكنولوجيات المتاحة.

Three participants provided information and updates on some ongoing efforts to build capacity for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, on tools and techniques for forest monitoring and GHG inventories, and on examples of projects in several developing countries.
31- قدم ثلاثة مشاركين معلومات ومواد محدثة عن بعض الجهود الجارية التي ترمي إلى بناء القدرات لخفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الغابات وترديها في البلدان النامية وعن الأدوات والتقنيات المستخدمة في رصد الغابات وفي عمليات جرد غازات الدفيئة، وعن أمثلة لمشاريع في عدة بلدان نامية.

Requests the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice to undertake a programme of work on methodological issues related to a range of policy approaches and positive incentives that aim to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries noting relevant documents;3 the work should include:
7- يطلب إلى الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية أن تضطلع ببرنامج عمل بشأن القضايا المنهجية المتصلة بطائفة من النُهج السياساتية والحوافز الإيجابية الرامية إلى خفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الغابات وترديها في البلدان النامية ملاحظةً الوثائق ذات الصلة()؛ وينبغي أن يتضمن هذا العمل ما يلي:

Invites relevant organizations and stakeholders, without prejudice to any future decision of the Conference of the Parties on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, to support efforts in relation to paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and 5 above and to share outcomes of these efforts with the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice by providing corresponding information to the secretariat;

It was recognized that support from international organizations, in particular from the United Nations system, will be important to advance the implementation of decision 2/CP.13, the conclusions from SBSTA 28 and any future activities relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries.
81- وجرى التسليم بأن الدعم المقدم من المنظمات الدولية، وخاصة من منظومة الأمم المتحدة، سيكون هاماً للمضي قدماً بتنفيذ المقرر 2/م أ-13، والاستنتاجات التي توصلت إليها الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية وأي أنشطة مستقبلية تتعلق بخفض الانبعاثات الناتجة عن إزالة الغابات وترديها في البلدان النامية.
