٨- يجوز لمؤتمر اﻷطراف أن يطلب إلى المنظمات الوطنية والدولية المختصة التي لديها خبرة فنية ذات صلة بالموضوع أن تزوده بالمعلومات المتصلة بالفقرة )ز( من المادة ١٦، وبالفقرة ١ )ج( من المادة ١٧، والفقرة ٢ )ب( من المادة ١٨.

The amended paragraph would read as follows: " To hold those who are responsible for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, and for crimes against humanity, accountable for their actions before the competent national and international judicial mechanisms. "
وأضافت أن صيغة الفقرة المعدلة ستكون على النحو التالي: " محاسبة الأشخاص المسؤولين عن انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان والقانون الإنساني الدولي بالإضافة إلى الجرائم المخلة بالإنسانية على أعمالهم أمام الآليات القضائية الوطنية والدولية المختصة " .

8. Requests the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to invite States, national human rights institutions, relevant organs and bodies of the United Nations, other relevant international bodies and relevant national and international nongovernmental organizations to attend the seminar and to report to the sixtyfirst session of the Commission on the outcomes of the seminar;
8- تطلب إلى مفوضة الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان دعوة الدول، والمؤسسات الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان، والأجهزة والهيئات المختصة التابعة للأمم المتحدة، وغيرها من الهيئات الدولية ذات الصلة، والمنظمات غير الحكومية الوطنية والدولية المختصة إلى حضور الحلقة الدراسية، وتقديم تقرير إلى الدورة الحادية والستين للجنة عن نتائج الحلقة الدراسية؛

468. With regard to the recommendation on corporal punishment, in particular public flogging, the Government intended to consult with relevant national and international authorities to assess whether the application of corporal punishment, as currently practised in Maldives, was compatible with its international obligations under the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
468- فيما يخص التوصية المتعلقة بالعقوبة البدنية، ولا سيما عقوبة الجَلد أمام الملأ، تعتزم ملديف التشاور مع السلطات الوطنية والدولية المختصة لتقييم ما إذا كان تطبيق العقوبة البدنية، كما تُمارَس حالياً في ملديف، متفقاً مع التزامات ملديف الدولية الناشئة عن اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة (اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب).
