The Committee takes note of the information provided by the delegation that an amendment of the tax system reducing the negative aspects of taxation of married couples ( " splitting " ) was introduced in January 2009 and hopes that this amendment will alleviate the negative incentive of the previous tax system on the participation of women in the labour market.
