(iii) A " dependent child " is a child for whom the staff member provides main and continuing support and who meets one of the following criteria:
' 3` يُراد بتعبير " الولد المعال " الولد الذي يتكفل الموظف باستمرار بجانب رئيسي من تكاليف إعالته، والذي يستوفي أحد المعايير التالية:

(viii) On travel approved in connection with the education of a staff member's dependent child.
' 8` في السفر المأذون به المتصل بتعليم الولد المعال للموظف.

(b) A " dependent child " shall be:
)ب( يقصد ﺑ " الولد المعال " للموظف:

(j) a dependent child, for the purpose of repatriation grant, shall mean a child recognized as dependent under rule 103.24 (b) at the time of the staff member's separation from service.
)ي( ﻷغراض منحة اﻹعادة إلى الوطن، يقصد بتعبير الولد المعال الولد الذي يعتبر معالا بموجب القاعدة ١٠٣/٢٤ )ب( وقت انتهاء خدمة الموظف.

(a) Staff members whose salary rates are set forth in paragraphs 1 and 3 of annex I to the present Regulations shall be entitled to receive dependency allowances for a dependent child, for a disabled child and for a secondary dependant at rates approved by the General Assembly as follows:
(أ) يحق للموظفين المبينة مرتباتهم في الفقرتين 1 و 3 من المرفق الأول لهذا النظام الأساسي أن يحصلوا على بدلات إعالة عن الولد المعال وعن الولد المعوق وعن المعال من الدرجة الثانية حسب المعدلات التي أقرتها الجمعية العامة، على النحو التالي:

However, if the staff member has no dependent spouse and is entitled to the dependency rate of staff assessment under subparagraph (b) (i) of regulation 3.3 in respect of a disabled child, the allowance shall be the same as the allowance for a dependent child in subparagraph (i) above;
على أن الموظف إن لم يكن له زوج معال ويستحق أن يطبق على مرتبه الاقتطاع الإلزامي على أساس معدل المعيل المبين في الفقرة الفرعية (ب) ' 1` من البند 3-3 من النظام الأساسي للموظفين، يكون ذلك البدل هو نفس البدل الذي يدفع عن الولد المعال حسب المبين في الفقرة الفرعية ' 1` أعلاه؛

However, if the staff member has no dependent spouse and is entitled to the dependency rate of staff assessment under subparagraph (b) (i) of regulation 3.3 in respect of a disabled child, the allowance shall be the same as the allowance for a dependent child in (i) above;
على أن الموظف إن لم يكن له زوج معال ويستحق أن يطبق على مرتبه الاقتطاع الإلزامي على أساس معدل المعيل المبين في الفقرة الفرعية (ب) ' 1` من البند 3/3 من النظام الأساسي، يكون ذلك البدل هو نفس البدل الذي يدفع عن الولد المعال حسب المبين في الفقرة الفرعية ' 1` أعلاه؛

4. In staff rule 3.19 (b) (ii) on the repatriation grant, the reference to staff rule 3.6 (a) (ii), which defines a " child " , is being corrected to staff rule 3.6 (a) (iii), which defines a " dependent child " for the purpose of the Staff Regulations and Staff Rules.
