4. When explaining its support for General Assembly resolution 60/92 on the risk of nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, Canada noted that Israel's adherence to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as a non-nuclear-weapon State would be a positive step towards preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
